Famous indore style poha is simple to make and a good breakfast for people of Madhya Pradesh.
It is a very popular and delicious indian breakfast recipe made by beaten rice. Poha is most common breakfast in Indore and other areas of Madhya Pradesh (MP). Usually garnish with indori sev and served with hot tea.

Ingredients:

2 cups Poha (Beaten Rice)
1 Potatoes
1 Onions
2 Green Chillies
1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
2 tsp Peanuts
4 tblsp Oil
1 pinch Turmeric powder
1 Lemon
1 tsp sugar
Few Corainder leaves
Salt to taste

How to make indori poha :

Soak the poha in water. Wash and drain all the water.
Add some salt , turmeric powder , & sugar keep aside.
Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes, chop the onions, chillies, corainder leaves.
Heat oil and put mustard seeds, peanuts, curry leaves and fry until they crackle.
Add potatoes , saute for few minutes, then add chopped onions, chillies.
Cook till they are done. Add the poha, corainder leaves and stir.
Keep it on slow flame for 5- 7 minutes.
Let it cool for sometime and add then lemon juice & indori sev.

I just luv poha in the breakfast. The recipe looks fine but I am sure I will miss the Indori sev with it :(
...it just doubles the taste of Indori POHA

The recipe you gave doesn't produce the taste of poha from Indore. Its missing something. I think its the "sauf" that's missing. You have to make a fine powder of sauf, add to the poha and let slow (very slow) cook. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Poha is my favourite breakfast. I used to put some garam Masala, cloves, coriander seeds, & black whole Peper. Garnish with sliced tomatoes on top. This gives an extra taste and flavour.
